Sligo Racecourse Guide

About

Sligo racecourse at Cleveragh, on the edge of the town, is a small track in the north-west of Ireland that stages Flat and National Hunt racing during the summer.

The Track & Course

The track is a right-handed, tight and undulating circuit of around a mile. Horses that race close to the pace and handle the bends tend to do best, as there is little time to make up ground.

Going & Ground

Summer going is usually good, though showers can soften the ground during the season.

Key Races

Sligo's mixed cards are made up mainly of handicaps and maidens, with its summer festival meeting the busiest fixture of the year.
