Bangor-on-Dee is a friendly, rural National Hunt course in North Wales with no grandstand, racing right beside the River Dee.
The Track & Course
It is a sharp, fairly flat left-hander on the turn for much of the way, which puts a premium on handiness, jumping fluency and a bit of speed rather than relentless galloping power. Hold-up horses can struggle to make up ground on the tight circuit.
Going & Ground
The low-lying course rides on the soft side through the winter and can get genuinely testing after rain, so proven mud-handling form is worth having.
