About
Epsom is a flat-only course on the Surrey Downs and the home of the Derby, the most famous flat race in the world.
The Track & Course
It is a unique, switchback left-hander that climbs sharply, swings downhill round Tattenham Corner and runs into a cambered home straight, demanding balance, a high cruising speed and stamina in equal measure. The five-furlong sprint is the fastest in the world and a high draw is favoured there.
Going & Ground
The downland turf is fast-draining and usually rides on the firmer side of good for the early-June festival.

The Derby and the Oaks headline the early-June Derby Festival, supported by the Coronation Cup and a fiercely competitive sprint card.
