Ripon Racecourse Guide
About
Ripon racecourse in North Yorkshire, known as the Garden Racecourse for its well-kept grounds, stages Flat racing only from spring through to late summer.
The Track & Course
The track is a right-handed oval of around a mile and five furlongs with sharp bends, and a straight course of six furlongs for sprints. The draw can have a big effect in big-field sprint handicaps, so it is worth checking how recent races on the straight course have been run.
Going & Ground
The going is usually good or good to firm through the summer, although rain can soften the ground and change how the draw plays out.
Key Races
The Great St Wilfrid Handicap in August is the course's best-known race, a big-field sprint handicap that always draws plenty of betting interest.
