Killarney racecourse in County Kerry is set against the backdrop of the lakes and mountains of the national park and stages both Flat and National Hunt racing during the summer months.
The Track & Course
The track is a left-handed, fairly flat oval of a little over a mile, with tight bends. Speed and a handy position are an advantage, and horses held up at the back can find it hard to get involved.
Going & Ground
Because racing takes place in the warmer months, the going is usually good, though summer showers can soften it during a meeting.

The July festival is the highlight of the year, with mixed cards over several days, and the May meeting is also well supported.
