Hereford Racecourse Guide

About

Hereford racecourse reopened in 2016 after a four-year closure and stages National Hunt racing from the autumn through to the spring.

The Track & Course

The track is a right-handed, almost square circuit of around a mile and a half, with fairly sharp turns. It suits handy horses that travel well and jump accurately, and course experience can be an advantage.

Going & Ground

The going is often soft through the winter, while early-season and spring meetings are usually run on good or good to soft ground.

Key Races

Hereford's cards are made up mainly of novice and handicap races, giving punters plenty of competitive betting heats rather than headline pattern races.
