Cork Racecourse Guide
About
Cork racecourse is at Mallow in north County Cork and stages both Flat and National Hunt racing across the year, with a lively Easter meeting among its best-supported fixtures.
The Track & Course
The track is a right-handed, fairly galloping oval, with long straights that give horses time to settle and come through from off the pace. There is also a straight course for sprints on the Flat.
Going & Ground
The going varies with the season, from good ground in summer to soft or heavy in midwinter, when stamina becomes the key factor in the longer jumps races.
Key Races
The Cork Grand National, a valuable staying handicap chase, is the feature jumps race, while the Easter fixture and the summer Flat cards bring competitive betting fields.
