Chelmsford City Racecourse Guide
About
Chelmsford City racecourse at Great Leighs in Essex is an all-weather Flat track. It races all year round, including floodlit evening meetings.
The Track & Course
The track is a left-handed oval of about a mile on a Polytrack surface, with fairly tight bends and a short home straight. Racing handily is often an advantage, and horses held up at the back can find it hard to get involved.
Going & Ground
As an all-weather track, the surface rides consistently and allows racing in most weather, which makes it an important venue through the winter months.
Key Races
Chelmsford City's cards are built mainly around competitive handicaps and novice races, with busy evening fixtures throughout the year and a regular role in the all-weather programme.
