Ascot Champions Day Betting Offers and Promotions

For a racing event of this magnitude, you’d be right in thinking that operators will have a good range of betting promotions on the go. Some of the most common Ascot Champions Day betting offers will include bet refund deals, odds price boosts and the occasional free bet and, of course, best odds guaranteed promises will apply to the six different races. In our experience we’ve found that Betfred tend to be particularly generous toward the end of the season, so be sure to keep close tabs on the promotions page as the event draws closer.

In addition, why not try signing up to a new operator and making the most of the welcome bonus for new players?! If you aren’t already a member, you could opt for BetVictor. Here, you can win a deposit bonus of up to £50, if you wager as much on your first go!

Ascot Champions Day Betting Odds Levels

Ascot Champions Day betting odds levels tend to be some of the best, with our tests showing that figures can reach as high as 87%-88%, which is extremely good to say the least! One of the operators that has been known to offer particularly good value in recent years is BetVictor and their high odds levels, so bear in mind that a punt or two here could be well worthwhile.

Given the level of competition at Ascot Champions Day, patterns and trends have proven particularly hard to identify. It is an event where the best of the best go toe-to-toe; the margins are slim and favourites have been known to get pipped by outside contenders more than you might expect. With this in mind, our advice to you would be to do your homework; study how the competitors have performed throughout the year and carefully go through your handicapping process before you look for value in the field.

Some Interesting Facts

Ascot Champions Day betting represents the grand finale of the flat racing season where only the best of the best from around the world go toe-to-toe to see who will be crowned kings and queens of the track. It is the single richest day of racing in the British Isles where in excess of £4million worth of prize money is awarded over the course of the day. Five championship races are of varying distances and disciplines are held as well as one handicap race – the Balmoral Handicap – which makes for a tantalising feast of equestrian action.

With the exception of the British Champions Long Distance Cup – which is Grade 2 – the other champion races are all of Group 1 status and therefore offer some pretty serious prizes. The richest of them all is the Champions Stakes, a middle distance race, where a whopping £1,300,000 is shared among those that manage to place. The second richest is the Queen Elizabeth II Stakes, which is worth just over £1million, and the least valuable is the British Champions Long Distance Cup, which is still worth a very respectable £300,000.

The Story So Far

Given the long and rich history of flat racing in Britain, Ascot Champions Day is a fairly new concept. It was devised back in 2011 with the intention of bringing together historic races which had long been features of Ascot and Newmarket’s end-of-season meets and creating a high-profile, end-of-season finale that could rival the likes of the USA’s Breeders’ Cup and France’s Prix de L’Arc de Triomphe. Since it’s inception it has proven to be a massive success, with Ascot Champions Day betting now representing one of the most important markets for UK bookies.

The legendary Frankel, the remarkable colt that managed to stay unbeaten in all his fourteen races, won the Queen Elizabeth II Stakes in the inaugural year of Ascot Champions Day and completed his stellar career a year later with a victory in the Champion Stakes. Other famous winners in recent times include Almanzor, the French thoroughbred that won the Champion Stakes in 2016; Olympic Glory, the Irish-bred British-trained thoroughbred that won the Queen Elizabeth II Stakes in 2013; and Simple Verse, winner of the British Champions Fillies’ and Mares’ Stakes in 2015.
